There were many highlights for the England test side. One was Joe Root scoring his 10,000th run. Their summer began with a tense win over New Zealand at Lord's as Root got the memorable milestone. Root became the second England player to reach 10,000 runs in Tests - doing so aged 31 years and 157 days. He was the exact same age as his former team-mate Alastair Cook when he reached the landmark.
Women's Ashes
The Women's Ashes Test ended with one of the most incredible finales that women's cricket has ever seen. Both looked set to snatch victory at various stages of a spellbinding Test match. England win T20 World Cup
England beat Pakistan by five wickets in a pulsating final in Melbourne to win the Men's T20 World Cup and become double world champions.
Chasing 138 in front of a raucous Pakistan-supporting crowd, they fell to 45-3 and 84-4. However, Ben Stokes wrote himself further into the folklore of English cricket by finishing on 52 not out. He was there at the end, as he was in the 2019 50-over World Cup final, as this current white-ball side provided another of England's finest ever wins and performances.

Was he appointment of Brendon McCullum the moment that sparked England's Test turnaround? The New Zealander caught the eye with his mentality and by speaking to the media for the first time as men's Test coach in skinny jeans and ankle socks. What followed was a number of incredible and exciting Test performances.
