News: More Coronation details announced
May 2023 will see the UK celebrate a key moment in time and history.
It has been announced that a series of world-famous entertainers will perform at Windsor Castle as part of a weekend of celebrations to mark the King's coronation.
The concert will be broadcast on the BBC on 7 May. It will feature what has been described as "global music icons" alongside orchestras and a diverse "coronation choir".
It will come the day after the coronation at Westminster Abbey.
Charles was proclaimed King Charles III, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. At the time, he declared himself ready to take on the "heavy responsibilities of Sovereignty". This was televised for the first time in history.

Processions to and from the abbey will take place, ending with a balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace.
There will also be a laser and drone light show, but in an end to another tradition, there are no plans for beacons to be lit around the country.
